Sweet & Simple

I really like this online advertisement for Best Buy.
Online ad's need to be easy to read, to the point and eye catching. This ad does all three.
The Copy "When Your Game Needs A Little More Game" on the left hand side is a great headline specifically calling attention to all religious gamers. It acts as a challenge for gamers to up their game.
Simple, sweet and to the point, the supporting copy confirms the headline and keeps it fresh.

Are You Thirsty?

Are you thirsty? I know I am when I see this advertisement for Bud Light. I chose this ad because of the copy. I love how the word 'Drinkability' is layered with an image of beer. This effect isn't new but it creates a craving to drink the beer and also makes the concept stand out.
Very straight forward, classy and strong this Bud Light ad does it's job.

Brilliant!

Use Energy Wisely - An energy conservation billboard by Eskom in South Africa.
This billboard was featured in Africa using brilliant elements of space and light. A message doesn't get any clearer than this. Most of the board is vacant and dark with only a hint of light shining over the intended message.
A strong message is being communicated from start to finish in this ad. No loose ends were left for questioning.

Her Side Of The Story

Written in the copy under her eye reads this:

"Yesterday, I was cooking dinner but I forgot that I had also left the washer and dryer on, so we got a power shortage. In the dark I went looking for a flashlight and I accidentally bumped into the cupboard. Unfortunately I'd left an old iron on top and it fell off and hit me in the face. Hence the black eye.
You can tell us your real story."

Wow what powerful copy and brilliant art direction. I love this Ad because the copy and art tells a story without having to use a strong headline. Really well done.

Very Cool

3M Security Glass Ad.

This transit shelter outdoor ad was placed in Vancouver B.C to feature 3M's unbreakable security glass.

It looks like a massive amount of cash but it was only really $500 of real currency stacked on top of fake money.

People were allowed to try to kick it with their feet to break it. A security guard was present to insure that no one broke the rules.

really cool interactive ad.

Really?

The new windows phone 7 commercial generates a laugh.
Demonstrating how intensely consumers are glued to the new windows 7 phone, viewers watch as characters get involved in impossible situations as their attention is solely dwelling on their windows 7 phone.

Every Seal needs a Pamela!

This is a PETA ad directed towards Canadian Seal Slaughter.
I love the copy talking about what Pamela Anderson has in common with Barack Obama and others. It smacks some heavy names in support of the cause and puts some credibility behind the blond bomb shell.

The use of colour and white space is perfect and the simple drawing of the seal confirms the message.

Love the Bieb

I am just joining the Bieber Fever movement, I know, where have I been?!
I mean seriously, this kid is IT!
Justin Bieber...I love you!

Everyone watched the 2011 Grammy's and if you didn't, where were you?! Bieber rocked the show pairing up with Will Smith's son Jaden & mentor/icon: Usher.

The reason I am talking about The Bieb, is because he has launched an entire empire. This young boy has created an endless supply of PR stories & website visits.
He has frequent followers on YouTube and other social networks and has already made millions in ticket sales.

He has created a media circus around the mere mention of his name!
Now out with a movie, there is more documentation and memorabilia that will solidify Justin Bieber's place in the entertainment industry.

It will be incredible to watch and see what happens with Bieber and if he can maintain his success and hold on to his earnings.
Below is a really funny commercial that aired during the 2011 Super Bowl staring Justin Bieber and Ozzy Osbourne.

Adorable!

I was searching through some current ad's online and immediately stopped at this one. I love it! What a great concept. It's truly adoring to read and look at.
Another really cool thing about this ad is that it's informing the consumer of a different way to use the Febreze product. I was not aware that you could use it on clothing so this print is informative as well as humorous.

The characters in this ad are priceless. You can believe that this guy, tattoos and all would probably doesn't do laundry on a regular basis. The loving mom or grandma fits the adoring role perfectly as her smile and generous hug capture the love she has for this guy.
What a fun charming advertisement.
I love when an ad makes me smile and take another look.

Baby Blues

Okay, who hasn't fallen in love with the new Huggies Jean Diaper ad's. They are so sweet and adorable. It's hard not to love them. I know my Sister In Law bought some for her little boy and I have to say they are adorable!

You have to wonder if this kid is even still wearing diapers off set! The idea is adorable and communicates directly to the loved ones who adore their little ones.
Huggies knew that the target audience who are parents, friends and grandparents would respond to the cute child in Huggies Jean Diaper ad's and purchase the product.

Old Spice Keeps it New

"The man your man could smell like" this theme took Old Spice to incredible heights. Everyone was talking about it and the campaign trickled down to all types of consumers.
My husband even bought a bottle of Old Spice after seeing this brilliant ad campaign.
Koo dos to the team that developed this very cleaver campaign. It is one for the books.
This You Tube video highlights the best moments of the campaign and its staggering success in sales.
Go Old Spice!

Shock Value

I really like this print ad for Burger King featuring the BK Super Seven Incher Sandwich. I enjoy seeing an ad for fast food that has more than just a product shot. Typically ad's for burger joints show an incredible product shot and headline.

I enjoy this Burger King print ad because it tells a story. The girl in the shot is wide eyed with her mouth open unsure of how in the world she is going to get this giant sandwich between her lips. The text: "It'll Blow Your Mind Away" compliments the image and screams bold intense flavour and size. I really love the colours, layout and design on this one.

IKEA Catalog Campaign

To celebrate the 60 year anniversary for IKEA, a campaign called "Capture the Page" was launched inviting IKEA Fans to interact with the IKEA catalog pages by taking a picture of their favorite page, or outdoor billboard and uploading them to the IKEA.ca website for the chance to win $10,000 in IKEA gift cards.

This past summer I remember riding the Go and outside Union Station this campaign was splashed everywhere outside. I thought the idea was brilliant. It was a great campaign to get consumers looking inside the 2010 catalog. I noticed the outdoor advertisements and they got me flipping through my IKEA catalog more frequently than normal. This was a really great guerrilla marketing campaign.

Labour of Love

Wow, was this ever a challenge. I had to take this one with my camera.
I was browsing through one of my Redbook magazines and stumbled on this Ad. The magazine is from 2007, so it's older, hence no online copy.
I was drawn to this print for Hershey's All Natural Extra Dark chocolate because of the copy. I love the headline that reads " SMOOTH, RICH AND GOOD FOR YOU.
IF IT WERE A MAN YOU'D MARRY HIM.
I love how the writers connected the benefits of the chocolate with the primary target who are woman. The entire ad is brilliant but the copy is really something to admire.

Checkout Diva

I had been looking through Outdoor magazine and stumbled on a really cool Ad for an Epson stylus printer. It was a deep sea diving image with really sweet copy about the depths a deep sea diver endures just to get one good shot. The final caption said to "Finish Strong" next to am image of the photo being printed from the Epson printer.

I couldn't find the ad anywhere online but I was interested in the style of the Epson print ad's so I looked online and found another one that I thought was cheeky and un-expecting.

So here it is.
Next to this Paris Hilton look alike the caption reads:
"Of course she'll take her time in the checkout line. That's, like, the perfect place for, like, guys to check you out."
And the fine print bellow says this:
"Speed up slow transactions with the super fast TM-H6000 III receipt printer."
I really like the honesty in the copy. I think so many of us have stood behind a diva like this one wishing there were a shorter line to stand in. I was immediately drawn to the image and the copy kept me on my toes curious as to what this ad was really about. I appreciate ad's that make you think and challenge you to look for answers.

2011 Ford Edge

I stumbled on this ad in the January edition of Glamour magazine. It's for the new 2011 Ford EDGE. The ad is highlighting the fact that the New Edge understands 10,000 voice commands.
The copy is brilliant. Above the car hundreds of voice commands are displayed in bleeding text such as: "Find Nearest Ice Cream Shop" and "Call Sue". The simplicity yet overwhelming clarity of the message stand out and highlight the voice command benefit of the product.
